Twin Formula Automotive was built from nearly two decades of hands-on experience, hard work, and a genuine passion for fixing cars the right way.
Shah began working in automotive repair shops at just 17 years old. Now 36, he has spent most of his adult life learning the trade and working in different repair environments throughout New York City.
Much of his experience came from the busy automotive shops along 21st Street in Astoria, an area known for its concentration of mechanics, body shops, taxi garages, and parts suppliers.
Over the years, Shah has worked on nearly every type of vehicle, including yellow cabs, private passenger cars, commercial vehicles, hybrids, and electric vehicles.
Working in different shops gave him experience with everything from routine maintenance and diagnostics to brakes, suspension, cooling systems, electrical problems, engine repairs, and more complicated mechanical issues.
“A customer should not have to keep coming back for the same problem.”
The principle behind every repairShah believes that when someone brings in a vehicle for a repair, the goal should be to identify the real cause of the problem and fix it properly — not apply a temporary solution or replace unnecessary parts.
He wants customers to return because they trust the quality of his work, not because the original repair was never completed correctly.
Before starting Twin Formula Automotive, Shah and his younger brother, Zee, helped operate a repair shop on 21st Street for approximately six months. They used the location during the nighttime hours, when many traditional repair shops were closed.
Most of their customers were taxi drivers who depended on their vehicles to earn a living, along with private customers, neighborhood residents, and drivers who discovered the shop while passing through the area.
At night, customers would arrive with problems ranging from flat tires, broken lights, and minor repairs to radiator replacements and other urgent mechanical issues.
With help from a nearby overnight auto-parts supplier, Shah and Zee were often able to obtain the necessary parts, complete the repair, and return the vehicle to the customer within just a few hours.
That experience showed them the importance of speed, honesty, reliability, and understanding how much customers depend on their vehicles.
Today, Shah is preparing to open a repair operation of his own close to home. The shop will operate from a privately owned garage equipped to perform professional mechanical work.
A vehicle lift and additional equipment are being added to expand the services the shop can provide.
The shop is operated by appointment only, allowing Shah to give each vehicle the time and attention it deserves rather than rushing through jobs or overcrowding the garage.
Zee handles the business side of the operation. As Shah's younger brother, he has supported him throughout the journey and previously helped manage their nighttime repair operation.
Zee has experience running multiple businesses and understands customer service, scheduling, estimates, communication, marketing, and day-to-day business management.
Together, the brothers bring two different strengths to Twin Formula Automotive.
Manages the mechanical and collision-repair work.
Handles appointments, estimates, customer communication, and business operations.
Their long-term goal is to grow Twin Formula Automotive into a fully equipped professional repair facility while building a reputation based on honest recommendations, dependable service, and repairs performed correctly the first time.
Twin Formula Automotive is more than a repair shop. It is the result of years of experience, two brothers working toward a shared goal, and a commitment to treating every customer's vehicle as if it were their own.
